Ashley has been working as an independent graphic artist and stationery designer in the wedding industry since having her first son over seven years ago. Coming from a background in graphic design and marketing in the floral industry she developed a passion for the beauty of flowers and the heartfelt meanings they hold. Having strong roots in rural Nova Scotia, Ashley loves being outside, picking wildflowers and feels most at ease by the ocean. The discovery of preserving flowers and inspiration for her new business materialized when she found some old flowers pressed years ago by her mother. Ashley instantly felt a sense of nostalgia and loved how the flower texture felt like paper. She’s been pressing flowers ever since!
Seek & Bloom focuses on the slow art of flower pressing while incorporating the modern approach of graphic arts that create designs that feel organic and elegant. Products are created using pressed and preserved flowers and foliage forged from the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. Ashley is passionate about working with other local creatives to make designs that are organic , handmade and elegant. The majority of the floral designs are created with pressed flowers grown by local flower farmers, like Humble Burdock Farms and spot calligraphy scripted by Love Struck Lettering.
Most days you will find Ashley in her home studio designing and pressing any flowers she can get her hands on. When she is not creating, you can find her on an adventure with her boys, relaxing with a cider at the lake, or at the gym lifting weights and spinning her heart out!
Seek & Bloom offers a growing selection of stationary featuring simplistic watercolour and pressed flowers through a growing Etsy shop. Invitations, thank you cards, ceremony programs, table numbers, and menu cards to name a few.
Flowers are a very prominent piece of your wedding day and each flower chosen can hold sentimental value. If you have specific flowers or foliage that holds meaning or is very present on your wedding day, it is possible to create a custom floral design that compliments. Keep in mind the season to allow enough time for speciality flowers to preserve before they are ready for the design process.
Seek & Bloom also has a full line of gifts, decor and everyday stationary with a growing presence throughout the Maritimes.
