We are delighted to be sharing this gorgeous styled shoot, titled “Ethereal Romance Styled Shoot In Nova Scotia”.
This photoshoot was a collaborative effort made possible by several talented and creative Nova Scotia based weddings vendors & businesses.
The photographer and creative director for this styled shoot was Yumi M Photography!
For this styled bridal shoot, we wanted to create something very romantic, ethereal and enchanting as if it came out of a fairy tale. We added natural elements such as flower garlands, branches, dusty roses, figs, grapes, wine and a cheese platter to create cozy, warm and rustic feel. Wile's Lake Farm Market has such a lovely greenhouse with lots of natural light and rustic concrete floor and was the perfect location for our shoot. Everything came together in perfect harmony and we just couldn't have been happier with the end result!

Wile’s Lake Farm Market provided the gorgeous greenhouse space that served as the backdrop for the day.
I provided the space in our greenhouse. The inspiration came through our social media posts on the weddings we’ve hosted in our greenhouse, which becomes a fantastic venue with just a little imagination.

I supplied the ring used in the shoot! My business ellefulton.com sells jewelry made from vintage materials and retro reproduction jewelry.

Details Event & Design Studio took Yumi’s vision and worked hard to turn it a reality by providing decorations and stationery.
My business Details Event & Design Studio and Yumi's Photography business both surfaced around the same time four years ago. Yumi approached me to help her with her very first wedding styled shoot 3 years ago, and we've been a team ever since. I love working with this girl!
For the "Ethereal Romance Styled Shoot In Nova Scotia” Yumi approached me with her vision of wanting to pair a soft elegant look, with stronger natural elements that surround us. Luckily with my studio being situated in a rural setting, finding the natural elements used in the shoot (branches) were by far a plenty. My company offers a wide range of decor rentals, focusing on boutique vintage items. With the shoot location, local greenhouse Wile’s Lake Farm Market having a cement floor full of cracks and imperfections, I knew my collection paired with the venue would complete the look she wanted beautifully.
My role for this shoot was to take Yumi’s inspiration board and make it a reality. My first task was to find the right table. I wanted a harvest table but not the traditional wood look. Unfortunately I didn’t have one so I reached out to local antique dealers. I was lucky enough to find the off-white rustic one used from Sunnyhill Antiques. Once the table was determined everything else fell into place. I wanted to keep the overall look simple incorporating soft tones of blue, grey and pinks and paring those with the natural elements of the branches and serving ware. There’s a lot happening on the table, however to make it not feel crowed and still maintain a high level of elegance I used simple glass bud vases, holding a single rose, glass and mixed metals of silver and brass candles holders, holding white candles. Food was also included to add a sense of personality, making the overall shoot feel a bit more “real” and not so "styled" . Using our white tulle backdrop was a must, especially with the hanging floral backdrop I created. I wanted to make sure we had a solid white background to work with but also one that would add a bit of texture. This back drop has three layers of tulle and defiantly added to the overall look.
The stationary for the shoot was also created by us. We kept the same soft feel by using a pearlised paper and dark blue ink. Natural elements were incorporated with the used of a wreath monogram and leaf graphic, keeping the overall design simple. We felt this added the level of elegance to match the rest of the decor. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the finished shoot. Everything went so smoothly that day. Being on site and seeing all the pieces come together, hair & makeup, the dress, our model, the cake, florals, props, the location and lighting, it makes me feel so blessed that I’m able to do the job I love. We had so many “Ah” moments and shirks of excitement. Every time I look at these photos I see something new and sign at how beautiful it was. The greenhouse really was the perfect location for natural light. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day in February!

Primrose Lane provided the delicate and dreamy ethereal style wedding gown!
We have been involved in all three of Yumi's photoshoots. Her and I discuss the theme of the shoot and the model and we decide together which dress will represent the shoot the best. I don't attend the shoot so I send the dress on its way and wait for the sneak peeks ! We love working with an all women team of players. Each one of them are far more creative than I could ever imagine. We are all located in a small town on the South Shore of NS, so all the exposure we can all get is a huge benefit to each one of us. We work really hard to make a name for ourselves in this crazy business when competing with National chains and larger well known bridal boutiques located in Halifax. Our mission is to make sure everyone that leaves here feels beautiful with whatever they purchased. Our Customer service is what makes customers refer us to other potential customers. Word of Mouth is the best advertising you can get!
The dress is Grace by Bridalane out of Montreal, Quebec. They are still a family owned company that takes great pride in their gowns , whether by design or quality of fabrics, they are one of my favorite companies to deal with.
