In 2012, Alan Hargrove was in school studying graphic design and one of the electives he had to take was photography. He says,
“I honestly didn't think anything of it because I thought I was going to do design and marketing for the rest of my life, until we went out and started to shoot. I ended up really enjoying it and started renting cameras to shoot car shows, landscapes, and honestly anything I could stick the camera in front of. After I finished school and started working I bought a camera and started shooting more. In 2016, I started taking portraits which turned in to more portraits, families, grads, and everything else. In 2018 I started shooting weddings and now I am booked up for the next two Summers.
Hargrove has started to focus on weddings, couples, portraits, and branding sessions. He is aiming to capture both raw authentic and fun candid moments that his clients will cherish forever. His approach is to be easy going, relaxed, fun and enjoyable. He wants you to feel like you have known each other for ages and for the wedding party, loved ones, vendors, and everyone else involved to be totally comfortable and able to trust him with the session.
ADVICE FROM ALAN HARGROVE
For photographers - You just have to start right? Everyone starts at 0. Pick up your camera, learn, know it, and shoot everything until you find out what you want to be shooting. Don't do it for the likes or followers, do it because you love it.
For Brides to be - Reach out to your potential photographer of choice as early as possible. Meet with them, trust them, keep them updated up to and during the big day. We are here to help you and help make sure your day goes off without a hitch.
When describing what a session with him would be like, Hargrove says, “Imagine Michael Scott, Vogue, and GQ covered your wedding. Sounds fun right?”
