Vendor Highlight - Bates Barn

Vendor HighlightDedreanna DrostComment

Bates Barn in Long Point, New Brunswick has a rich history rooted in New Brunswick farm culture. The family operated a farm in Rural New Brunswick that included fruits, vegetables, a roadside market and beef cattle. To show their support to the community towards their farm, they hosted an annual corn boil and barn dance in a beautiful rustic barn constructed on the property in 1946. The barn overlooks the Belleisle Bay and the longest cable ferry in Eastern Canada. This eventually turned into couples who met at a barn dance asking to have their wedding at the place they met. Thus, the Bates Barn Wedding Venue was born. The original Bates Barn was destroyed by fire in February 2017 and a decision was made to rebuild. The new Bates Barn opened its doors on the same site to weddings and events in June 2018.
