Have you ever been in a place and you just knew you were meant to be there? That feeling. . .
. . . must be real nice.
I'm the most socially awkward human being on the face of the planet, so meeting a group of strangers that I've, at this point, only talked to online, was pretty terrifying. There was the very real possibility that I was the victim of the most elaborate catfish ever, involving multiple fake profiles, Facebook pages, businesses, and the creation of a fictional magazine. Hey, we all know anything is possible with the Internet, right?
I made my way from Bouctouche to Fredericton and found myself inside The Delta. I've never had the pleasure and was pleasantly surprised by the modern decor and warm atmosphere. I continued through the lobby to the hotel restaurant, Catch. To my surprise I found. . . Nev Shulman. . .
Just joking! Luckily for you (and me) this is not an episode of Catfish, but a real life, first ever, magazine created by people from New Brunswick, for people in New Brunswick, about weddings in New Brunswick. I’ve said that before but it warrants repeating. In this world where it has all been done, how often can you say you were part of the first of something? Well this is your opportunity!
I found my seat and met up with some very lovely ladies, whose beauty was only outshone by their kindness. They quickly welcomed me and made me feel at home (FYI, not an easy task, when you have to welcome someone with the grace and fortitude of a picked dandelion). I was overjoyed as I looked up from my seat and found myself surrounded by a group of very talented ladies, all from NB. Photographers, florists, entrepreneurs, wedding planners, and two other writers whom have been recently married and are still buzzing from their bridal high. Trust me ladies, gents, LGBTQ+ (man, I love living in Canada) you're in good hands with this team. If you don't believe me see the food pics. You know you're set if your girl squad can eat.
This team of talented ladies, whom I’m sure you’ve all been reading about, make up your creative team for Weddings New Brunswick! At dinner we discussed how buying a wedding magazine is a bridal rite of passage, but, as it is (was) you couldn’t actually use the magazine because (up until now!) it wasn't relevant to us living in NB. Well, come January, that’s all gonna change! PS Just in time for all you Christmas engagements ;).
It’s Your Turn New Brunswick!
We have been LOVING getting all your pictures and stories. We also have some pretty sweet surprises in store for the future. Spoiler Alert: articles that are actually relevant and important to you, local ads you really want to see and can actually use, charity events, and did somebody say WIN A FREE WEDDING COLLECTION!?!?!? We can’t wait to share them all come January. In the meantime like us on Instagram and Facebook and follow the weekly blog posts.
Speaking of which, I have the honour of writing your weekly blog. My name is Hannah and I’m recently engaged (swoon) to my boyfriend of six years. I am of course happy to share all my bridal insights as they happen but I mostly want to hear from YOU! What do you want to read about? Dresses? Venues? Honeymoons? You name it and we’re on it! Let's is know in the comments.
Until next week (can’t wait!),
